WAMC Sports Report: Siena Heads To Game 3 Of CBI Tournament

In game 2 of the CBI tournament, Fresno State beat Siena 89-75. The winner will be determined by the outcome of game 3 which will take place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Siena’s ARC.

The NIT championship game takes place tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN when Southern Methodist goes head to head with Minnesota. The CIT championship game also takes place tonight when Yale will see Murray State at 7 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.

Three-time Pro Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson has officially joined the Washington Redskins.

In the American League, Boston topped Baltimore 6-2, Houston edged the Yankees 3-1, Toronto blew out Tampa Bay 3-0, Detroit beat Kansas City 2-1 after 10 innings, the White Sox defeated Minnesota 7-6 after 11 innings,  and it was Seattle over the Angels 8-2.

In a double header, Oakland bested Cleveland 6-1 in the first game, and Cleveland trumped Oakland in the second game 6-4.

In Interleague play Texas bested Philadelphia 4-3.

In the National League, Washington defeated the Mets 5-1, Atlanta slid past Milwaukee 1-0, Pittsburgh beat the Chicago Cubs 4-3 after 16 innings, Colorado edged Miami 6-5, San Francisco beat Arizona 2-0, and it was the Dodgers over San Diego 5-1.

In the NBA, New York topped Brooklyn 110-81, Washington bested Boston 118-92, Charlotte outshot Philadelphia 123-93, Cleveland defeated Orlando 119-98, Indiana squeaked by Detroit 101-94, Toronto won against Houston 107-103, Chicago beat Atlanta 105-92, Miami edged Milwaukee 96-77, Minnesota topped Memphis 102-88, San Antonio defeated Golden State 111-90 for its 19th straight victory, it was Denver over New Orleans 137-107, the Clippers bested Phoenix 112-108, and Sacramento won against the Lakers 107-102.

Over on the ice, the Islanders skated past Ottawa 2-1, Detroit edged Boston 3-2, Anaheim defeated Edmonton 3-2, Los Angeles shut out Phoenix 4-0.
