Two economic development groups in the Hudson Valley are merging.

The Boards of Directors of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation and the Westchester County Association announced on Tuesday their intent to pursue a merger of the two organizations. The as yet unnamed new economic development and business advocacy group will focus on what it’s calling Healthcare and BioHud Valley along with real estate site selection; workforce development; cluster development and the gigabit economy. The new organization will be led by Westchester County Association President and CEO William Mooney as CEO with Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation CEO Mike Oates as president until September 2019, at which time Oates will assume the role of CEO.
