Westchester County Exec Announces Economic Growth Initiatives

Office of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino

In New York, the Westchester County executive Thursday unveiled a series of initiatives to promote economic growth.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino announced so-called “smart” initiatives designed to promote economic growth, including a program to train and place 500 individuals in high-demand healthcare jobs in the next four years. Another initiative is the Mobile “App” Development Bowl. Westchester County and Pace University will hold a mobile application development competition for the area’s college and high school students with cash and paid county internships as prizes. Astorino also says the county will launch a redesigned web site as well as hold a summit for profits and not-for-profits. He unveiled the initiatives and a report at the Westchester County Association annual breakfast.
