A New York congressman from the Hudson Valley is part of a delegation that is visiting facilities at the U.S. border Friday.

Democratic Congressman Antonio Delgado of the 19th District is joining a bipartisan delegation on a trip to the Rio Grande Valley to view conditions of U.S. government facilities at the border. The delegation will visit Customs and Border Protection facilities around McAllen, Texas, including a Border Patrol station, processing center, holding facility and port of entry. The delegation will also visit a Department of Health and Human Services shelter and meet with local immigration stakeholders working on the ground at the border. This comes as the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General expresses concern about overcrowding and other conditions at border facilities.
