A college in the Hudson Valley has teamed up with a technology company to launch a cybersecurity initiative.

Poughkeepsie-based Marist College and BlackRidge Technology have announced a research partnership to develop advanced cybersecurity capabilities. As part of the partnership, Marist tested and deployed the BlackRidge solution to protect the college’s internal network management devices. The next field trials will include setting up secured network spans that will protect the college’s Academic Community Cloud that leverages multiple IBM z Systems. BlackRidge Technology provides cyber and network security that was developed for the military to cloak and protect servers and segment networks. The capability to provide advanced cybersecurity research was developed in the New York State Cloud Computing and Analytics Center at Marist College.
