In New York, Dutchess County officials say a poll worker who staffed a polling site on Election Day has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health Commissioner on Thursday said a poll worker who worked November 3 at the East Fishkill Community Center on Route 82 in Hopewell Junction, has tested positive for COVID-19. The person had been following all precautionary steps – mask wearing, hand sanitizing, social distancing — and was not experiencing any symptoms, so the commissioner says the risk to voters is minimal. However, he urges voters, and any others who visited the site on Election Day, to monitor for symptoms and seek testing as a precautionary measure.
