The main sign at Berkshire Medical Center's Pittsfield campus

With the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reporting 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Berkshire County as of Thursday, attention has been focused on the region’s main hospital – Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Berkshire Health Systems Director of Media Relations Michael Leary spoke with WAMC Friday morning about the status of quarantined staff members, increasingly limited medical supplies, and the facility’s testing capacity.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018 after working at stations including WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Berkshire County, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. You can reach him at jlandes@wamc.org with questions, tips, and/or feedback.
