Thirty mayors in Massachusetts are urging a no vote on the ballot question that if approved would lift the cap on charter schools.
The mayors opposed to Question 2 represent some of the largest school districts in the state, including Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno.
" All we ask for is equal equitable funding because that takes away from our kids who are in need," Sarno stated.
Question 2 would allow up to 12 new charter schools a year in Massachusetts, with most of the expansion in urban areas
Proponents released a new television ad featuring Governor Charlie Baker.
