Over the weekend, the Clinton Health Department reported that two parties by SUNY Plattsburgh students led to dozens of people being put in isolation or quarantine. The county sheriff is now warning people not to lie to contact tracers.
In the wake of parties held a couple weeks ago, 14 students have now tested positive for COVID-19. During the Clinton County Health Department’s weekly press conference on Wednesday Sheriff David Favro said he was appalled to hear unconfirmed reports that someone said they would lie to contact tracers. “That’s deplorable when it could cost somebody their life. We will look into any possible criminal charges that may be linked to that.”
At least 27 individuals may have been exposed to the coronavirus during the student parties.
