Plattsburgh Mayor Imposes Curfew

Plattsburgh’s mayor is imposing a citywide curfew in an effort to get more people to comply with social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Plattsburgh Mayor Colin Read said on Wednesday that he is dismayed to see many people still gathering in close groups.

He has issued an executive order establishing a curfew from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Exemptions include getting food, going to and from work, and individual or family outdoor exercise.

The order also bans group sports on any city property.

The mayor also recommends wearing a fabric mask or something similar when in public.
