Clarkson University in Potsdam and Union Graduate College in Schenectady will explore a merger of graduate programs.
The colleges say their goal is to build on complementary existing programs and provide new opportunities for growth.
Clarkson officials say the university’s national reputation in engineering, science and management would reinforce Union Graduate College. At the same time, Union’s programs in bioethics, healthcare management and education would allow Clarkson to expand its graduate offerings.
A centralized administration would be created at Union’s campus in Schenectady. A final decision on the collaboration could be made in the next few months.
