Note: story updated 10 a.m. 5/26/19

A Cohoes man is facing charges after Saturday’s fatal crash in the Town of Clifton Park.

Police arrested 58-year-old Dickie R. Winn after the crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of New York State Route 9 and Ushers Road.

Troopers say Winn was traveling southbound on Route 9 when his vehicle left his lane and collided with a stopped vehicle traveling eastbound.

Two of the passengers in the stopped vehicle were killed, three were seriously injured.

Police have identified the deceased as 33-year-old John A. Heneghan, and 32-year-old Caitlyn J. Holtzman, both of New York City.

The survivors were identified as 24-year-old, Julia Staples, 25-year-old Luke O’Doherty, and 25-year-old Enda Crowley. All sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Albany Medical Center hospital.

Winn was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and faces charges of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, two counts of Vehicular Manslaughter, and Driving While Intoxicated.

Winn was remanded to Saratoga County Jail without bail and is due back in court on Wednesday.
