The  National Guard has been deployed to assist with tree and debris removal in Washington County, which was heavily impacted by Friday’s thunderstorms.

In a statement released after a visit to the Washington County community of Cambridge on Saturday, Governor Andrew Cuomo said the "National Guard and state emergency personnel will remain in the field until recovery efforts are complete."

More than 100,000 customers in eastern upstate New York lost power in the storms.

According to National Grid, as of 8 a.m. Sunday, more than 2,000 customers in Washington County were still without power. More than 9,000 customers in Warren County and more than 4,500 in Saratoga County were also affected.
