U.S. Senator Charles Schumer To Advocate For Firefighter Cancer Registry

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and other officials will join the Amsterdam fire department later today renew efforts to pass legislation that would create a specialized cancer registry for firefighters. Schumer says firefighters are exposed to a range of harmful toxins and that for certain types of cancer, the risk can be 200 percent higher than the broader population.
