Gloversville Hospital Reaches Agreement With Union Workers

Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home in Gloversville has ratified a new contract with its union workers.

The hospital has announced a new collective bargaining agreement with 1199SEIU, which represents 400 workers at the Fulton County facilities.

In a statement, hospital President and CEO Laurence Kelly said, “The end result is an agreement that is fair to both sides.”

1199SEIU Vice President Rosa Lomuscio said, "We came into the process with the goal of securing good wages and affordable health and pension benefits, and after a long haul, we succeeded.”

The union represents about 40 percent of the hospital’s workforce.

Correction: The original version of this story mischaracterized negotiations between the hospital and the union. The NYS Nurses Association was the union that had gone on strike in January, not 1199SEIU.
