Opponents of a plan to build a casino in the Rensselaer County community of East Greenbush are sponsoring a speech tonight by a gambling expert, who says there are hidden costs to casinos.
Robert Goodman, professor emeritus at Hampshire College, served as director of the United States Gambling Study, which was funded by the Ford Foundation and the Aspen Institute.
The group "No Casino in East Greenbush" is sponsoring the talk by Robert Goodman at the community gospel church in the city of Rensselaer at 7 this evening.
