Plattsburgh, NY – President Obama's plan includes tax cuts for small businesses that hire new workers or increase wages. It cuts payroll taxes and gives extra tax credits to companies that hire veterans or the jobless. And the President's plan would reduce the red tape for startup companies trying to raise capital. National Federation of Independent Business New York State Director Mike Durant was disappointed that a bolder plan was not put forth.

Burlington Business Association Executive Director Kelly Devine says the President's plan didn't include enough details.

Business Council of New York State Acting President and CEO Heather Briccetti found some good proposals in the Presidents speech.

Jay Peak Ski Resort President Jay Stenger serves on a number of economic boards and committees in Vermont. Stenger says what business needs is bipartisanship in Washington.

President Obama presented the nearly $450 billion plan to a joint session of Congress Thursday evening and traveled to Virginia Friday to rally public support for the plan.
