Albany, NY – Both sides are lobbying Governor Andrew Cuomo over a bill regarding the rising use of mail-order prescription drugs. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...
A group of lawmakers, consumer advocates and pharmacy lobbyists are urging the governor to sign the bill that would ban the mandatory use of mail-order prescriptions by health plans and employers. They say it will reduce choice to give out-of-state pharmacies huge profits.
Supporters of mail-order prescription drug plans say it saves money in the ever expanding growth of health-care costs.
Cuomo is expected to either sign the bill into law or veto it soon.
