Washington, DC – Last February a federal appeals court rejected an EPA plan to create a cap and trade system for mercury emissions from power plants. A coalition of states and numerous environmental groups, including the Adirondack Mountain Club, were involved in that suit. Last Friday, the Bush Administration filed a petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out the appeals court ruling; renewing the fight over the Clean Air Mercury Rule.
