Albany, NY – New York Governor Elliot Spitzer spoke to our Capitol Correspondent Karen DeWitt about the state of the budget talks, and his current stalemate over spending with Senate Republican Majority Leader Joe Bruno.
Karen DeWitt also asked Spitzer about his strategy of splitting apart the coalition of Senate Republicans, the hospitals and health care workers union, and the state's Conservative Party, which recently sided against Republicans and with Spitzer on the budget. He also addressed whether he thinks the budget fight is a defining moment for him as governor, and answers why Assembly Democrats are cooperating with him now after the fight over choosing a State comptroller.
