Lawmakers Push for Tougher Drunken Boating Law

Plattsburgh, NY – In 2003, Governor Pataki signed a law lowering the threshold for Boating While Intoxicated. This year, the two state lawmakers who successfully moved that legislation through are now working on a proposed new law that would increase the penalties for those convicted of boating while intoxicated, or B-W-I, to match driving while intoxicated penalties. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
