Early voting begins Monday in Massachusetts for the state’s March 3rd presidential primaries.
This is the first time Massachusetts has had early voting for a primary.
Springfield Election Commissioner Gladys Oyola-Lopez said people enjoy the convenience of early voting, but the verdict is still out on whether it increases total voter participation.
" People do want to vote, but sometimes they wait till the last minute and forget," said Oyola-Lopez. "Hopefully, this early voting session we are going to have prior to March will capture that group of people too."
Early voting will be available from Feb 24th to 28th at city and town halls during regular business hours.
Some municipalities will set up polling locations in neighborhood centers and on college campuses.
