A Vermont high school student charged with sending death threats to fellow students, teachers and staff at his school, causing three lockdowns and the cancellation of classes, has been jailed for violating the conditions of his release.
18-year-old Josiah Leach, a student at South Burlington High School, was taken into custody Friday after a federal court hearing.
The Burlington Free Press reported that the judge said there was strong evidence Leach used the internet in violation of the terms of his release.
Leach has pleaded not guilty to charges he emailed a "murder list" on April 20 targeting 16 students and staff. Other threats were received by email, phone and on Facebook.
Leach's attorney Elizabeth Quinn said she'd respond after reviewing the evidence.
