Connecticut will be receiving more than $320,000 in federal money to help support its response to the Zika virus. U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funding will be used to identify and track Zika outbreaks, coordinate Connecticut's response and help affected families find services.DeLauro, who represents the 3rd Congressional District, says she still hopes Congress will approve President Obama’s request for $1.9 billion to address Zika nationally. DeLauro is the senior Democrat on the subcommittee responsible for funding the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education.

Connecticut health officials have been conducting surveillance for Zika virus since February. No locally acquired cases have been reported.

The state recently kicked off an awareness campaign for the mosquito-borne illness at Bradley International Airport.
