In Conn. Sentencing Delayed For Ex-Congressional Candidate

wikipedia.org

A federal judge in Connecticut has delayed the sentencing of former Republican congressional candidate Lisa Wilson-Foley in a campaign finance scandal that also led to the conviction of former Governor John Rowland.U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton has indefinitely delayed Wilson-Foley's sentencing, which had been scheduled for Tuesday.

Wilson-Foley and her husband, Brian Foley, pleaded guilty last March to conspiring to hide $35,000 they paid the former Republican governor for help with Wilson-Foley's failed 2012 congressional campaign. Brian Foley was sentenced to three years of probation earlier this month.

In delaying Wilson-Foley's sentencing, Arterton cited issues recently raised in Rowland's prosecution. Rowland’s sentencing was also delayed indefinitely earlier this month, when his lawyers raised concerns about some evidence not being disclosed to them before trial.
