The University of Vermont has received a record number of early applications for fall 2015.
More than 14,500 early applications have been received by the Burlington college , a 48 percent increase over last year’s early submissions.
The number of in-state early applications went up 78 percent over last year.
UVM Director of Admissions Beth Wiser said the increase is evidence that UVM is “..among the schools of choice for high school students, especially in New England.”
She noted that despite the increase in applications, the college plans to keep the incoming freshman class about the same as previous years.
