The jury in the last of three separate trials that have captivated the region involving the murders of three Berkshire County men enters its third full day of deliberations Wednesday.After starting Friday afternoon, jurors in Hampden Superior Court spent all of Monday and Tuesday deliberating and will continue Wednesday. Defense lawyers for 34-year-old Caius Veiovis used less than one day to try to discredit the prosecution’s case, saying there is no evidence linking their client to the deaths. The prosecution led nine days of graphic testimony, with Berkshire District Attorney David Capeless saying there is enough evidence for a conviction.
Veiovis has pleaded not guilty to charges connected to the murders of David Glasser, Edward Frampton and Robert Chadwell. The men disappeared from a Pittsfield apartment in August 2011. Their dismembered bodies were discovered two weeks later in Becket.
In separate trials earlier this year, Adam Lee Hall and David Chalue were convicted and sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the killings.
