Officials with the Massachusetts Health Connector say they are working to resolve technical troubles with the website for the state’s online insurance marketplace
Since Massachusetts launched a new website October 1st to get the state’s insurance plans aligned with the national Affordable Care Act there have been persistent problems including freeze-ups and faulty links. The open enrollment period has been extended to the end of March. The state’s top consumer watchdog, Barbara Anthony, stresses no one has lost insurance coverage.
Although the federal law meant small changes for Massachusetts, more than 100,000 people who have subsidized insurance through the Commonwealth Care program need to enroll in a new plan. Also, an additional 40,000 people now qualify for subsidized insurance because of new higher income limits.
