Two Service Providers Offer Temporary Free Internet Access For Remote Learning

wikipedia.org

A New York state assemblyman says two internet service providers are offering free connections for a limited time to help with remote learning.

Optimum and Spectrum are offering free 60-day connections to households with remote learning students that do not have access. Additionally, college students living independently without broadband may also apply. Democratic Assemblymember Kevin Cahill urges eligible community members in his district that includes parts of Ulster and Dutchess Counties to take advantage of the offer. Following the free 60 days, customers will be charged a standard rate for service, unless they choose to cancel. Optimum provides service to those living in Dutchess County as well as in New Paltz and Lloyd in Ulster County, while Spectrum serves residents throughout the Hudson Valley.
Those in the Optimum availability area should call 866-200-9522 for more information and households in the Spectrum service zone can call 844-488-8395.
