Several municipalities across New York are holding virtual or hybrid 9/11 commemoration ceremonies. It has been 19 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Rockland County officials will join family members, clergy and others in Haverstraw for a ceremony where seating is reserved for victims’ families. The 8:30 a.m. event will be livestreamed on the county’s Facebook page. There will be a moment of silence at 8:46 in remembrance of the attack on the North Tower of the World Trade Center, and again at 9:03 in memory of the attack on the South Tower. Four more bells will toll in remembrance of the attack on the Pentagon, the collapse of the South Tower, the crash of Flight 93 into Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the collapse of the North Tower. And in Dutchess County, as has been County Court Judge Peter Forman’s custom since 2002, there will be a memorial service to remember the victims of September 11th held on the steps of the Dutchess County Family Court building in Poughkeepsie at 8:30 a.m.
