SUNY New Paltz Project Tops List For Potential Funding

A 3D printing initiative at SUNY New Paltz is at the top of the list when it comes to projects that could see state funding.

The Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council has chosen the 3D Printing Initiative at the State University of New York at New Paltz as a top priority project to be considered for state funding in this year’s round of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Regional Council Initiative. The funding would allow New Paltz to construct a 7,500-square-foot facility on campus and purchase 3D printing equipment, leveraging a combined $500,000 in funding from businessman Sean Eldridge of Kingston-based Hudson River Ventures and Central Hudson Gas & Electric toward the new Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz. A key element of the SUNY New Paltz 3D printing initiative is joining the governor’s START-UP New York tax-free program.
