Watercolor Monotype Workshop (NPS)

Watercolor Monotype Workshop (NPS)

1 Saturday
October 4th
10:00 am - 3pm

Ages 14 and Up

Watercolor Monotype is a type of monoprinting technique that uses water-based materials such as watercolor paints and water-soluble pencils or markers to make one-of-a-kind prints. In this one-day workshop, students will learn how to prepare their printing plate and paper to create their own watercolor monotypes. We will explore how different water-based media create various textures and how this can be used to build a composition through layering. This workshop will teach you how to create experimental prints through a non-toxic process. Students are encouraged to bring any drawings, photos, or ideas they would like to recreate in their print or just see where this unique, painterly process takes you! No prior experience required.
