Sunset sound bath & hike
This summer, CLC is hosting a series of programs where participants can learn more about and try land management techniques in a supportive environment so that they can feel comfortable implementing them at home!
This series of workshops is ideal for those who are already actively managing their land, those who would like to get started, and those interested in learning more about how CLC manages the properties we care for.
This workshop at Overmountain will focus on ecologically compatible cattle grazing in a wetland ecosystem, led by speakers Patrick Knapp, CLC Public Lands Manager, and Jason Tesauro, of Jason Tesauro Consulting, LLC and The Wetland Trust.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about how to identify different wetland habitat types, including a wet meadow, red maple-larch swamp, and a regionally rare calcareous fen habitat. The historic land use will be discussed, as well as plans for restoring the hydrology and water levels and utilizing targeted grazing as a long-term management strategy to restore and preserve the fen community.
