Albany, NY – American women earn less than men for the same work. That's a fact proven in many studies....and a fact that's becoming increasingly significant as the economy is resulting in more jobless men...and more women becoming primary breadwinners for their families. In 1960, women earned 59 cents for every dollar earned by men. Now it's 78 cents. Some experts say it's a sign of sex discrimination but others say it's more a matter of career choices.
