The State University of New York at New Paltz Institute for Disaster Mental Health hosted its annual conference in April, and I got the opportunity to have an extended discussion with three experts. Monica Indart is a consultant to the UN, a visiting professor at Rutgers and part of the Emergency Response Coordination on New Jersey. Paula Madrid is with the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University and senior director of the Children's Health Fund. And Dianne Kane is assistant director of counseling services for the NYC Fire Department.
