Struggling Retailer Closing Additional NY Stores

A major department store chain has announced it's closing more stores.

With sales down and losses growing, Sears says it will close 13 money-losing Kmart locations and 33 Sears stores in November including New York state outlets located in Queensbury at Aviation Mall, the Rochester suburb of Victor, and Long Island stores in Riverhead and New Hyde Park.

In May, Sears Holdings Corp., which controls Sears and Kmart, said it had "identified approximately 100 non-profitable stores." The retailer announced 72 of those would close in the near future.
