One of the most glaring effects of the sequester budget cuts was the furloughs of air traffic controllers, which led to delays for many travelers. After two days of heated debate, a bill to end those furloughs overwhelmingly passed both houses of Congress on Friday. President Obama is expected to sign the bill next week, and he chided lawmakers in his weekly address, calling the bill, "a temporary band-aid measure," and calling on Congress to replace the sequester.
Nathan Hurst, transportation reporter with CQ Roll Call, spoke with WAMC's Bob Barrett about the FAA bill which, despite passing by large margins, was not uncontroversial.
