Vernon, Vt – The Vermont Senate has approved a bill calling for a independent safety inspection of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant before it is allowed to extend its license for 20 years. Vermont's Governor has also called for a safety inspection, but it's different than the Legislative bill. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
