New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was in Plattsburgh Friday afternoon to make the case for the Senate to pass legislation that provides direct financial relief to local governments struggling with the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Democratic Congressman Antonio Delgado is one of the many voices from New York’s delegation calling for the U.S. Senate to include direct aid for state and local governments in the next coronavirus relief package. Included in the HEROES Act, the COVID-19 relief bill passed by the U.S. House, is a change that could bring $100 million of federal funding into Capital Region hospitals every year.
