DoorDash driver Alpha Barry had claimed he stopped at John Reilly’s home to ask for help after his phone died. Reilly fired two shots as Barry drove away, one of which struck him in the back.

The jury began deliberating on Tuesday in the case of John Reilly, the Chester Town official, charged with attempted murder for shooting a DoorDash driver leaving Reilly’s driveway.

The Chester highway superintendent faces attempted murder, assault and other felony charges for allegedly shooting the driver who came to his door last May.
