NCAA:
In college men’s basketball, No. 7 South Carolina stunned No. 2 Duke by beating the Blue Devils 88-81. No. 7 Michigan upset No. 2 Louisville 73-69. On Saturday No. 8 Wisconsin topped No. 1 overall seed Villanova 65-62. No. 11 Xaiver had its second straight upset beating No. 3 Florida State 91-66. The Musketeers will try to do it again in the Sweet Sixteen when they face No. 2 Arizona on Thursday.
On Saturday in the NIT, Mississippi beat Syracuse 85-80.
In women’s college basketball, No. 1 UConn crushed sixteenth seeded UAlbany 116-55. The Huskies take on No. 8 Syracuse tonight at 6:30 p.m. No. 12 Quinnipiac faces No. 4 Miami at 9 p.m.
Amherst College took out Tufts University in the Division III championship game 52-29.
In men’s Division 1 NCAA Tournament, Union College will face Penn St. on March 25th at 4:30 p.m. Cornell takes on UMass Lowell at noon.
In the 2017 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four championship game, Clarkson topped Wisconsin 3-0.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim has agreed to a new contract that will extend past next season. The extension of the Hall of Fame coach's contract comes after head-coach-in-waiting Mike Hopkins was hired Sunday by Washington.
Villanova's Josh Hart, Purdue's Caleb Swanigan, UCLA's Lonzo Ball and Frank Mason III of Kansas, are the finalists for the Naismith Trophy as the top player in men's college basketball. They were chosen by a national voting panel made up of journalists, current and former head coaches, former Naismith winners and conference commissioners. The winner will be announced April 2.
NBA:
In the NBA, Dallas bested Brooklyn 111-104, Philadelphia topped Boston 105-99, Detroit won against Phoenix 112-95, Portland beat Miami 115-104, New Orleans defeated Minnesota 123-109, Toronto topped Indiana 116-91, San Antonio beat Sacramento 118-102, and it was Cleveland over the Lakers 125-120.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons will undergo knee surgery Monday and is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Parsons was diagnosed with a partial tear of the medial meniscus in his left knee. Parsons signed a four-year, $94 million contract last summer as the Grizzlies' biggest free-agent acquisition, but he averaged just 6.2 points and played only 34 games this season.
NHL:
In the NHL, Columbus beat New Jersey 4-1, Pittsburgh blanked Florida 4-0, Winnipeg slid past Minnesota 5-4, Chicago doubled up Colorado 6-3, Philadelphia skated by Carolina in overtime 4-3, Montreal beat Ottawa 4-1, and it was Calgary over the Kings 5-2.
MLB:
In baseball’s spring training, the Yankees beat Houston 6-4, Minnesota won against Boston 13-8, and it was Miami over the Mets 7-5.
Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis is still four to five weeks away from playing in a game as he deals with shoulder inflammation. Kipnis received a second opinion on his shoulder and has been cleared to resume a strengthening program in a week. The Indians also say pitcher Cody Anderson will undergo Tommy John surgery that will cause him to miss the entire season.
In other major league news:
— Miami Marlins third baseman Martin Prado is expected to miss the start of the regular season with a strained right hamstring. Prado was playing for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic when he injured his hamstring running out a ground ball during Wednesday's loss to Team USA.
— Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz was lifted from Sunday's start as a precaution after two innings because of tightness in his left triceps. Pomeranz received a stem cell injection during the offseason and was delayed earlier in spring training, making his first Grapefruit League start on March 14.
NYC Half Marathon:
Feyisa Lilesa of Ethiopia ran the fastest time in five years in winning the NYC Half, and Molly Huddle of the United States won her third straight women's title in the 13.1-mile race South Africa's Ernst van Dyk, a two-time New York City Marathon champion in the wheelchair event, won the men's race in 47:28. U.S. Paralympian Susannah Scaroni won the women's race in 55:06.
MLS:
Jordan Morris drew a penalty to set up the first goal, scored on a header in the 66th minute to give Seattle the lead, and the Sounders celebrated last year's MLS Cup title with a 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls Sunday. More than 45,000 turned out for Seattle's home opener and were rewarded by goals from Clint Dempsey on a penalty kick, Morris' finish off a beautiful buildup and Harry Shipp's redirected goal off Joevin Jones' shot in the 79th minute.
NFL:
Dwight Clark has revealed that he has Lou Gehrig's disease and suspects playing football might have caused the illness. The 60-year-old Clark wrote on his Twitter page that he began experiencing symptoms in September 2015. The former wide receiver won two Super Bowls with the 49ers during a nine-year career that ended in 1987.
NASCAR:
Ryan Newman's late gamble allowed him to win the Monster Energy Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. Newman skipped a tire-changing pit stop to take the lead from deep of the pack. He held on for the final two laps to break a 127-race winless streak. Newman also halted a 112-race losing skid for Richard Childress Racing. Kyle Larson finished second for the third straight race. Kyle Busch was the leader for almost all of the final stage before taking third. Larson and Busch went to the pits on the late caution caused when Joey Logano's car blew a right tire and slammed into the wall six laps from the finish. Ricky Stenhouse was fourth, followed by Brad Keselowski.
PGA:
Marc Leishman has earned a berth in the Masters next month by rallying to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. The Australian went ahead by sinking a 50-foot eagle putt on 16 before closing with two tough pars to complete a one-stroke win over Kevin Kisner and Charley Hoffman. Leishman shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday for an 11-under total. Kisner had a three-shot lead at the turn, but he didn't make a birdie over his final 11 holes and closed with a 1 over 73. Rory McIlroy tied for fourth with Tyrrell Hatton at minus-9.
Steve Stricker faded late as he tried to become the 19th player to win his PGA Tour Champions debut. Stricker bogeyed two of his final three holes, allowing Tom Lehman to win the Tucson Conquistadores Classic by one shot. Lehman was two shots back before Stricker's late struggles. Lehman closed with a 66 for a 21 under total.
LPGA:
Anna Nordqvist shot a 4-under 68 to hold off fellow major champions Ariya Jutanugarn, Stacy Lewis and In Gee Chun by two strokes in the LPGA's Bank of Hope Founders Cup. Nordqvist was 25 under in earning her seventh LPGA title. The round of the day was crafted by 56-year-old Juli Inkster, who fired a 64.
