The NHL's motion to dismiss a class-action lawsuit brought by former players over concussion-related injuries has been largely rejected by a federal judge, allowing the claims to move forward. U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson issued her order Wednesday.

MLB:

In baseball spring training, the Mets topped the Yankees 7-2, St. Louis blanked Washington 1-0, Houston bested Philadelphia 7-1, Detroit doubled up Miami 8-4, Tampa Bay slid past Minnesota 2-1, Toronto beat Baltimore 5-2, Oakland tied Milwaukee 9-9, the Dodgers won against San Diego 9-5, the Angels edged Cleveland 4-3, Colorado beat San Francisco 5-2, the White Sox shut out Kansas City 6-0, Seattle edged the Cubs 3-2, and it was Cincinnati over Texas 5-0.

Forbes claims the Yankees are worth $3.2 billion, up from $2.5 billion last year and matching the Dallas Cowboys for the high among U.S. teams. Forbes estimates the Yankees' revenue last year at $508 million.

NFL:

The judge overseeing the murder trial of Aaron Hernandez says prosecutors are "about a week or so" away from resting their case against the former New England Patriots player. The trial has already gone on for about eight weeks. Hernandez is accused in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd.

The New York Jets have signed veteran tight end Kellen Davis, adding a big blocker to their offense. The 6-foot-7, 265-pound Davis signed with the Giants last offseason, but was cut during the summer. He was signed by the Lions in October, released and then re-signed and played in six games, mostly as a blocker.

Drew Duffy turned in a speedy run from a late starting position to win the men's super-G yesterday at the U.S. Alpine Championships in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Earlier in the day, Alice McKennis, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, capped off a comeback season with her first national title in the women's super-G.

A chairlift malfunction that injured seven skiers at the Sugarloaf ski area and resort in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, was caused by a broken drive shaft on a mechanical gearbox that took the main braking system offline. Investigators say another key braking system failed to work on Saturday because of a design flaw.

Boston Marathon:

Jurors in the trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been shown pressure cooker parts, BBs, nails and a piece of hobby fuse that were found in his apartment. The items were found four days after the 2013 terror attack, which killed three people and injured more than 260 others.
