Sports Report: Fright Christmas As Knicks Lose 16th Of 17

NBA:

In the NBA, Washington bested New York 102-91 for its 16th loss in 17 games, Oklahoma City beat San Antonio 114-106, Miami beat Cleveland 101-91 to spoil LeBron James’ return to his former home arena, Chicago topped the Lakers 113-93, and it was the Clippers over Golden State 100-86.

The Boston Celtics will host the Brooklyn Nets today. The C's are in third place behind Brooklyn, but have managed a pair of three-game winning streaks. The most recent surge featured victories over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Orlando Magic and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NFL:

It’s the last week of the regular season in the NFL. On Sunday at 1 p.m. the Jets are in Miami, Buffalo faces New England at Foxboro, and Philadelphia is in the Meadowlands to face the Giants.

NHL:

The NHL starts back up tomorrow after 3 days off from the regular schedule.

NCAA:

In top 25 men’s college basketball, George Washington beat No. 11 Wichita State 60-54.

In college football, the Bowl barrage took a break for Christmas but resumes Friday with three games on the schedule.

In the Heart of Dallas Bowl 8-4 Louisiana Tech meets 6-6 Illinois. Rutgers takes a 7-5 mark into the Quick Lane Bowl against 6-6 North Carolina. The St. Petersburg Bowl matches 9-3 Central Florida against North Carolina State, which is 7-5.
