Sports Report: NCAA Div. I Lacrosse Tournament Features Siena And UAlbany

The NCAA Division I men's lacrosse tournament has been set. Siena will face off against Bryant in a play-in game Wednesday at 4 p.m. The winner will see Syracuse in the first round. UAlbany will go head to head against Loyola Saturday at noon on ESPNU. Cornell also made it to the tournament and will play Maryland at 5 p.m. Saturday on ESPNU. Full bracket listed here.

Horse Racing:

Saturday’s Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is headed to Baltimore for the Preakness in two weeks, the next step on the Triple Crown trail for the horse.

NBA:

In the NBA playoffs, Brooklyn squeaked by Toronto 104-103 for the series win, and San Antonio beat Dallas 119-96, moving the Spurs to the second round.

NHL:

In the NHL playoffs, Pittsburgh blanked the Rangers 3-0, tying the series at two, and Chicago skated past Minnesota 4-1, giving the Blackhawks a 2-0 series lead.

MLB:

In baseball, in interleague play, Toronto beat Pittsburgh 7-2.

In the American League, Tampa Bay bested the Yankees 5-1, Oakland topped Boston 3-2 in 10, the White Sox defeated Cleveland 4-3, Minnesota trumped Baltimore 5-2, Detroit slid past Kansas City 9-4, Seattle edged Houston 8-7, and Texas blew out the Angels 14-3.

In the National League, the Mets beat Colorado 5-1, Philadelphia defeated Washington 1-0, Miami bested the Dodgers 5-4, San Francisco topped Atlanta 4-1, San Diego edged Arizona 4-3, Cincinnati won against Milwaukee 4-3 in 10, and it was St. Louis over the Cubs 5-4.
