Pittsfield, Massachusetts is soliciting public input on a new emergency plan.
The city received roughly $40,000 from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program. Rebecca Manship is the city’s recreational activities manager and the project manager for the grant.
“It provides support for cities and towns in Massachusetts to begin the process of planning for resiliency to climate change," she told WAMC. "So, the ability to adapt and recover from events such as storms, floods, heatwaves, et cetera.”
City residents will be able to fill out a survey on the emergency planning online until January 18th – there’s a link here.
