With coronavirus cases mounting in the city, top health officials in Pittsfield, Massachusetts are imploring residents to observe public health measures.
Dr. Alan Kulberg, chair of Pittsfield’s board of health, says the city currently has around 15-20 active cases of COVID. He says a cluster of cases is related to a party of young adults last weekend.
“People from various areas of the community came together, and we’re currently investigating whether or not they exceeded the gathering limit," Kulberg told WAMC.
Massachusetts has confirmed over 150,000 cases statewide, with around 790 in Berkshire County. According to Berkshire Medical Center – the county’s largest healthcare provider with its main campus in Pittsfield – 25% of the 24 tests performed in the last week were positive.
