Police say they seized approximately 13,500 bags of heroin, three firearms and approximately $8,000 in cash.

The Berkshire County District Attorney’s office says a multi-agency drug and weapons bust Tuesday night secured thousands of bags of heroin, weapons, and cash.

Ending a months-long investigation, The Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force, State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and the Pittsfield Police Department seized around 13,500 bags of heroin, multiple firearms, and $8,000 in cash.

“Police arrested 24-year-old Raekwan Jackson, of Springfield, 25-year-old Ka’refi Hillery, of Woonsocket, R.I., 27-year-old Shawn Sanders of Dorchester, and 23-year-old Bertram Oram of Springfield during the Tuesday night operation," said Public Information Officer Andrew McKeever of the Berkshire DA’s office.

Search warrants were carried out in both Pittsfield and Springfield in coordination with the Hampden County State Police Detective Unit. The DA’s office is requesting the suspects be held without bail on dangerousness grounds.
