New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu has been elected to a third two-year term defeating Democrat Dan Feltes.

Sununu thanked supporters Tuesday night.

"Tomorrow we come together as neighbors in our communities understanding there are still a lot of challenges ahead," Sununu said. "And we don't come together one way or the other and we don't leave the political stuff behind, we're not going to get anywhere.

Feltes, a state senator, released the following statement Tuesday night.

“Earlier tonight I called and congratulated Chris Sununu and wished him success as our Governor for another term," Feltes said. "While it is not the outcome we wanted or that we all worked so hard for, I’m so proud and grateful for the campaign that we all built together. Our team, our volunteers, and our supporters represent the very best of the Granite State. And it was the honor of my life to be your nominee for Governor."

New Hampshire Democratic U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has also been reelected, besting Republican Corky Messner.
