NH And VT Governors Outline Family Leave Plan
The Republican governors of New Hampshire and Vermont have announced a plan for a two-state paid family and medical leave program.
At a joint appearance in Littleton, Vermont Governor Phil Scott and New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu announced the Twin State Voluntary Leave Plan. Governor Sununu: “We’re proposing creating a paid leave benefit for the 18,500 combined state employees administered through a private insurance carrier that would allow private sector employers and employees in both states the options of participating.”
New Hampshire Senate Majority Leader Democrat Dan Feltes panned the proposal, saying it lacks policy and legislative planning.
