A grand jury has cleared a Troy Police officer of any wrongdoing in a July 30 fatal shooting.

Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly says Officer Adam Harbour, who was off-duty, responded to his neighbor’s home to stop an assault. Harbour then shot and killed 25-year-old Colin Davis as he was stabbing his wife. Donnelly announced the grand jury's decision during a press conference Friday.

"Due to Officer Harbour's actions, she served that violent attack and continues to recover from her injuries," Donnelly said.

Donnelly says her office maintained control of the case after the New York Attorney General’s Office determined it did not have jurisdiction.
